"I resigned to be able to provide
more support and help to my family.
I am in good health, as are they,
but I need to be 12 minutes not
12 hours away from them."

GOOD GOVERNMENT

I ran for office because I was concerned about the direction our country was going. I grew up reading about John Glenn, who was a master statesman, someone who was able to work across the aisle. He had the attitude that good government required bipartisan effort. I believe that with the right people we could get back to that place. I know that many of us are horrified by the divisive politics that dominate the news. As your Ohio House Representative I worked on important bipartisan bills that have and will improve the lives of Ohioans.

AMERICAN VALUES

I ran for office successfully three times, and worked every day for equal access for all to good schools, good jobs, and quality health care. I wanted to create opportunities that build our sense of community and allow for collaborations between people of varied backgrounds and interests across the district. I respect people for their opinions and values, and as the State Representative for District 4, I held regular office hours and Town Hall meetings, and I attended events and official meetings across the district to learn about issues and problems.

Smart Scientific Solutions

I was able to use my knowledge of science to work with colleagues on both sides of the aisle to consider solutions to the problems facing our communities. We worked on issues such as our sources of energy, our aging infrastructure, workforce development, the opioid addiction crisis and other health issues, threats to the environment and clean water, challenges facing farmers, the need for affordable child care, and the pressures of growth and scarce affordable housing.

“I believe in my core
that we should
spend our whole lives
helping others."

I am a science teacher and long time resident of Westerville. For decades I have taught science in our public schools and universities, and taught future teachers at Ohio State. In the past I was a member of the Westerville Public Library Board of Trustees, and served a three year term as a deacon in my church. Thanks to the voters, I took office in January 2019 as a member of the Ohio House. With your continued support, I was re-elected twice, and worked to propose and pass common-sense legislation to bring back good government to our democracy.
