"I'm ready, qualified, and dedicated
to serving you in the 19th Ohio House District."
- Mary Lightbody
TAKING A STAND FOR GOOD GOVERNMENT
I am concerned about the direction our country is going. I grew up reading about John Glenn, who was a master statesman, someone who was able to work across the aisle. He had the attitude that good government required bipartisan effort. I believe that with the right people we could get back to that place. I know that many of us are horrified by the divisive politics that dominate the news. I am dedicated to being an Ohio Representative who embodies good government and collaboration, and will bring honor to the office.
FIGHTING FOR AMERICAN VALUES
I am running so I can work for equal access for all to good schools, good jobs, and quality health care. I respect people for their opinions and values, and want to use and apply my knowledge as an educator of science to help develop solutions to problems facing our communities. I want to develop and support opportunities that build our sense of community and allow for collaborations between people of varied backgrounds and interests across the district.
SHIFTING THE DISTRICT
I believe it is time to put a Democrat in the House seat in District 19 to focus attention on issues that create economic stability and improve the quality of life in our neighborhoods and help the working class families.
Let's Get to Work
Access to Opportunity and Prosperity
I believe all people, regardless of background, should have equal access to pursue the American Dream. I will work for equal access to good schools, good jobs, and affordable healthcare.
Smart Scientific Solutions
I will use my knowledge of science to work on solutions to the problems facing our communities such as alternative sources of energy, aging infrastructure, threats to the environment, uncontrolled growth, and the opioid addiction crisis.
Bridging OUR COMMUNITIES TOGETHER
I will help build connections across the community that do not exist now to create improvements such as strategically placed teen centers, adopt a senior programs, more public-private partnerships, and mentors for young entrepreneurs.
